Borovets Summer Walking and Hiking
The Rila Mountains surrounding Borovets offer numerous opportunities for walking -
from ramblers looking for gentle 2 or 3 hour trips to experienced hikers wanting more
of a challenge. We have many routes to suit all tastes - and all with an experienced
mountain guide to show you the way (or without if you prefer, in which case we will provide
all the maps you need).
We offer 14 routes over 3 levels of difficulty. Prices are per person.
Easy Routes
| 2 | Yastrebets | From Borovets to the peak of Yastrebets with panoramic
views of the Musala peak, with the option to travel down by foot
or gondola. |

| 3 | Chakur Voyvoda | A gentle walk from Borovets through the pine
forests to to the panoramic views from Chakur Voyvoda.
Travel down via the 'Sitnyakovo' chair lift. |

| 7 | Vada | After a short (10km) transfer to the village of
Govedartsi, the scenery flora and fauna along with a
gentle walk to the Vada hut make this an ideal starter walk. |

| 12 | Venetitsa | Transfer to the spa resort of Dolna Banya, followed by a 2 hour
walk in the valley - admiring the beautiful spring and summer flora. |

| 13 | Gerginista | After transferring to the town of Dolna Banya a beautiful
walk along the bottom of the valley to the Gerginista hut. |

past the Skakavista Hut to the highest waterfall in the region. |

| 18 | The Black Rock | The
Black Rock
is a granite rock formation approx 130m
high above the valley of the suhu marista river. It has some of the
best views in the mountains and is an ideal starter walk ! |

Intermediate Routes
| 1 | Musala | From Borovets through the pine forests, then following the
valley of the Tarska Bistritsa river to the peak of the Musala
mountatin. Travel down the mountain is then via the gondola. |

| 4 | Zavrachitsa | From Borovets along the valley of the river
Maritsa to the Marista mountain hut and the peak of
the Musala mountain. |

of Govedartsi, the scenery flora and fauna walking to
the Malyovitsa hut are superb. |

| 8 | Seven Lakes of Rila | Transfer to Vada then commence the
picturesque walk through the seven lakes of rila high
in the pirin mountains. |
